Repeal Wyoming Gun Free Zones!
A GOA-backed bill to repeal Gun-Free Zones just passed introduction in the Wyoming House and heads to the Judiciary Committee!
LAST YEAR OUR BILL WAS GUTTED IN COMMITTEE!
In the 2023 Session, a similar GOA-backed Bill that would have repealed most of Wyoming’s remaining gun-free zones was gutted in Committee.
The good news is that HB0125, sponsored by Representative Jeremy Haroldson [R] from Wheatland, has received enough votes for introduction in the 2024 Wyoming House and now goes to Committee.
NOW THE HARD WORK BEGINS!
HB0125 will now go to the Wyoming House Judiciary Committee where it will face a tough battle.
GOA is standing alongside Representative Haroldson to allow Wyoming citizens an opportunity to exercise their Second Amendment Rights and not be disarmed in schools and government buildings.
Haroldson’s Bill would allow lawful concealed carry holders to carry on school grounds in Wyoming and to carry in most government buildings except jails, court rooms, etc.
A valid Wyoming concealed carry license is necessary to get around federal restrictions on school grounds that allow carry with a state-issued permit.
Utah, Oregon, and Alabama already allow unrestricted concealed carry at schools, and Utah has done so for almost 30 years without incident.
Many states including Utah, Montana, New Hampshire, and Idaho allow carry in government buildings like their state capitals.
Wyoming considers itself an example of Second Amendment freedoms, and it is time for Wyoming to remove restrictions that only disarm law-abiding people.
It is well-established fact that gun-free zones are just invitations for criminals and killers to target helpless people.
Please click on one of the take action buttons and demand that the House Judiciary Committee pass HB0125.
GOA will keep you informed and help lead the way on that mission!
Please be watching for more from GOA in the coming days as we monitor THIS AND ANY OTHER LEGISLATION impacting your Second Amendment Rights!
