We have a critical update regarding the fight for Constitutional Carry in North Carolina.

On July 29, the North Carolina Senate voted to override Governor Josh Stein’s veto of Senate Bill 50, Freedom to Carry NC. This was a major victory for gun owners across the state.

As a final step in moving forward with this legislation, the North Carolina House scheduled its override vote for July 30. Unfortunately, they decided to adjourn just before considering the override, removing the scheduled vote from the calendar. The new vote has now been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 26.

We cannot afford to lose momentum.

Constitutional carry has been recognized and reinforced already by over half the states in our nation, with many attributing the right to carry as the cause for lower crime rates. Carry permits are not only unconstitutional, but are a major holdup for law-abiding citizens who seek to protect themselves and their families.

Every Republican vote in the House is essential, and we still need at least one Democrat to join. During the regular session, Republican Representatives William Brisson and Ted Davis Jr. voted against SB 50, and 10 other House Republicans were recorded as absent. This kind of response puts the success of this bill at serious risk.

Now is the time to take action.

Use the above form to contact your member of the North Carolina House and urge them to support the veto override and stand strong for your Second Amendment rights.

With your continued support, we can ensure that SB 50 becomes law. Do not wait; contact your representatives today and tell them to vote yes to override the governor’s veto and pass constitutional carry in North Carolina!
