We have reached a critical point in the fight for Constitutional Carry in North Carolina. As you know, Senate Bill 50, “Freedom to Carry NC,” successfully passed both the House and Senate this legislative session, a testament to your collective advocacy and the tireless efforts of state groups such as Grass Roots North Carolina.

However, last month anti-gun Governor Josh Stein chose to veto SB 50. This decision is a direct challenge to the fundamental rights of law-abiding gun owners across the state.

The good news is that the fight is not over!

Next week, the North Carolina General Assembly will begin a veto override session. This is our last chance this session to ensure that SB 50 becomes law, overriding the Governor’s regrettable decision.

We need you to immediately Take Action! It is crucial that your State Legislators hear from you before they cast their votes.

Let’s recall what SB 50 does:

  • Enables Constitutional Carry: SB 50 would eliminate the requirement for law-abiding citizens to obtain a government-issued permit to carry a concealed handgun. This empowers responsible gun owners to exercise their Second Amendment rights without unnecessary hurdles or delays. Carrying a firearm for self-defense is a constitutional right, not a privilege requiring government permission. It even includes 18-20 year old adults.
  • Enhances Self-Defense: By removing the permit requirement, SB 50 ensures that North Carolinians can more readily defend themselves and their loved ones, especially in situations where time is of the essence.
  • Reduces Bureaucracy: The current permitting process can be cumbersome and create delays, sometimes leaving individuals vulnerable. SB 50 streamlines this process, allowing law-abiding citizens to exercise their rights more efficiently. Remember, a right delayed is a right denied.

So please use the form above to urge your State Legislators to support SB 50 during this veto override session!

Every email makes a difference. Your voice is powerful, and your legislators need to hear the overwhelming support for SB 50.

Let’s make sure our collective voice is heard loud and clear in Raleigh. Thank you for your continued dedication to preserving our Second Amendment freedoms.
