With L.B. 77 on the Move, We Need to Send a Strong Message to the Errant or Waving Senators to Advance Permitless Carry!
Patriots, we demonstrated our commitment to the cause of liberty by showing up in significant numbers to the committee hearing on January 26th. While your efforts unequivocally validated the support for Permitless Carry within Nebraska, the Judiciary Committee begrudgingly reported L.B. 77 to the floor for debate.
Senator Brewer’s bill, L.B. 77, is an important step in restoring just government to Nebraska.
The Aye votes were from Senators Wayne (D13), McKinney (D11), Ibach (D44), Holdcroft (D36), and DeKay (D40).
Three other senators chose not to participate in the vote: Blood (D03), Geist (D25), and DeBoer (D10).
To make matters worse, blatantly socialist senators, Cavanaugh (D9) and Raybould (D28) have already submitted amendments to L.B. 77 that would turn the bill into one that solidifies their anti-liberty stance by gutting the language and inserting the extreme risk protection orders (red flag). By not having the moral courage to defend liberty, these senators have clearly demonstrated that they do not support the God-given right of their constituency to “keep and bear arms.”
Patriots, as you can discern, this fight requires you to remain engaged to ensure that we get Permitless Carry passed in 2023!
You need to be aggressively but respectfully fighting with the pen (or mouse), because there are senators who wavering or, as mentioned above, are actively seeking to prevent you from exercising your God-given right to defend life, liberty, and property with commonly held arms without first asking permission from the government!
A government that forces the citizenry to ask their permission before exercising their God-given rights is one that views those cherished freedoms as mere privileges to be revoked upon their capricious whims.
Moreover, if you allow elected officials to behave in such a shameful and pompous manner, how long before they start to believe that they are a priestly class of “law givers” lording over the feeble peasantry?
Our rights are not only self-evidently true, but also, they are endowments to all humanity equally by our Creator. That timeless truth is such, regardless of whether the infringing misconduct is instigated by a lawless individual or by the actions of an unjust government.
If we wish to have a rebirth of freedom within Nebraska, it must begin within each of us. Once we understand the First Principles that govern our liberties and the implied civic duties, the next step is to hold our elected officials accountable for their failure to defend our rights.
The truth is that “We the People” must demand that our elected officials adhere to the oath that they swore before God, to uphold and defend our liberties.
Nebraska, are You Going to Allow Such Obviously Gutless Surrendering of Your God-given Rights? Or are You Bold Enough to Face Down these Socialists and Defend Your Liberties?
It is in times such as these, we must penetrate the mist of the past to reveal the wisdom of our forebears so that we can glean lessons from their struggles in order to map out the correct course of action that enables us to find our way forward.
On the eve of the bloody engagement upon Lexington’s Green, a self-taught backcountry lawyer gave an impassioned sermon to bolster the hearts of his fellow countrymen so that they would steel their resolve for the dark days that lay ahead. With searing oratory, Patrick Henry thundered his immortal “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech upon the waning and slumbering hearts of those assembled at the Henrico Parish Church in Richmond on March 23rd, 1775. His words proved to be prophetic and his fiery appeal to heaven served as a rallying cry throughout the dark years of defeat during the Revolution. We in our time must take encouragement from Henry’s words and strengthen our own hearts, because the battle for liberty is unceasing.
Let us contemplate Henry’s central argument…

“They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed…Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance, by lying supinely on our backs, and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power…There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations; and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave…There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come…It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”
Henry’s fervent case for rejecting the bonds of serfdom still has powerful implications for our own struggles against the legions of despots who seek to deprive us of our God-given rights as well as to subjugate us as if we are not naturally free men and women.
Let’s send a strongly worded notice to those faltering senators demanding that they Defend Liberty and Hold the Line!
